Super Termite Control
The super termite (Coptotermes formosanus) is considered to be the most destructive pest in the world. Due to interregional movement of goods and people, we can now find this invasive species on Grand Bahama. The super termite is a type of subterranean termite, which means that they need soil contact and usually establish their colonies underground before moving up and into a structure. However, during swarming season, they are also able to begin their infestation from the roof of structures and make their way down.
Super termites are considered highly destructive due to several reasons
+ Colonies can produce several million individuals, versus a regular subterranean colony of up to several hundred thousand termites

+ These termites are highly aggressive and resilient

+ They can forage for food up to 100m away, which means a single colony can potentially infest a whole block of houses

+ They are known to chew through plastic, foam, asphalt, and through cracks in cement to get their food
